Food Covers are a perfect way to keep bugs off your food while entertaining outside. If you have a bit of a crafty side, this project just might be for you!!
How To Make Your Own Food Covers:
Bill of Materials:
Sheer Fabric
Ribbon
Wire Basket
Handle
Needle and Thread
I found the a sheer white curtain (fabric) and a few wire baskets at the thrift store and the rest were in my “craft box”. This whole project cost me about 3 dollars and 2 hours from start to finish.
Step 1: Take off any parts of the basket that you don’t want to be part of the food cover (I removed the handles from my wire basket (and then I used one for the food cover handle)
Step 2: Cut Fabric to cover the wire basket.
Step 3: Attached Fabric to basket. All I did was cut a circle out of the sheer curtain I bought and started sewing it to the wire basket at the bottom.
Step 4: (optional) Cover handle with ribbon!
Step 5: Attach handle to food cover! (also sewed this) other options would be to use hot glue.
A Classy, yet affordable Food Cover!
